In the operation of motor equipment, bearings are key components, and their performance plays a vital role in the overall operating efficiency and service life of the equipment. The lubrication state of bearings is one of the important factors affecting their performance. However, in practical applications, poor lubrication of motor bearings is a common problem, and its negative impact cannot be underestimated.
First, poor lubrication directly leads to a significant increase in friction within the bearing. When grease or oil fails to effectively fill the tiny gaps inside the bearing, the contact area between the rolling elements and the inner and outer rings expands, and the friction force also increases. This situation not only accelerates the wear of the bearing and shortens its service life, but may also cause the bearing to overheat and even cause equipment failure. Long-term friction and wear will change the geometry of the bearing, thereby affecting its normal operation.
Secondly, poor lubrication leads to the accumulation of heat inside the bearing, which cannot be dissipated in time, causing the bearing temperature to be too high. Excessive temperature will directly affect the performance of the bearing material, resulting in a decrease in its hardness and wear resistance, and may cause a series of safety hazards. For example, lubricating oil easily deteriorates in high temperature environments, further deteriorating the lubrication condition. At the same time, overheating may also damage the seals and insulation materials around the bearings, resulting in reduced motor performance or even failure.
In addition, poor lubrication can cause abnormal vibration and noise. These abnormal phenomena produced by bearings during operation not only affect the normal operation of the equipment, but may also have adverse effects on the surrounding environment and operators. Increased vibration may cause the motor shaft and bearing seat to loosen, further aggravating bearing wear and temperature rise. In severe cases, continued vibration and noise may cause equipment failure or even render the equipment useless.
Motor performance is also directly affected by poor bearing lubrication. As the internal friction of the bearing increases, the rotational resistance of the motor also increases, causing the motor efficiency to decrease. Excessive temperature and vibration may also have a negative impact on the insulation and electromagnetic properties of the motor, further reducing the overall performance of the motor. In extreme cases, poor lubrication may even cause the motor to fail to operate normally, causing huge economic losses to the company.
Finally, poorly lubricated bearings can lead to additional environmental pollution. If pollutants such as waste lubricating oil and metal shavings generated by wear are discharged into the environment without proper treatment, they will have a serious impact on the ecology. In addition, overheating and vibration of bearings caused by poor lubrication may cause fires, explosions and other safety hazards, seriously threatening the production safety of enterprises and the personal safety of employees.
