The installation position of motor bearings is affected by a variety of factors, including the structural characteristics of the motor, load type and working environment. When determining the installation position, the following aspects should be considered:
Motor structure: The design and construction of the motor directly affect the installation position of the bearing. In horizontally mounted motors, the bearings are usually located at both ends or in the middle of the motor to support the rotor and withstand radial and axial loads. In vertical motors, the installation position of the bearing needs to consider the influence of the gravity and axial load of the rotor. Usually, bearing types that can withstand a certain axial force, such as deep groove ball bearings or angular contact ball bearings, are selected to ensure their normal operation.
Load characteristics: The load characteristics of the motor have an important influence on the selection and installation position of the bearing. In heavy-loaded or high-speed motors, bearings that can withstand large loads and high-speed rotation should be selected and installed in key positions of the motor to ensure the stability and reliability of the motor.
Working environment: The working environment conditions also affect the selection of the installation position of the bearing. In high temperature, humid or corrosive environments, special bearings that adapt to these environments need to be selected and installed in relatively dry and well-ventilated locations to extend the service life of the bearing and ensure the long-term stable operation of the motor.
Selection of the installation direction of motor bearings

Force balance: In horizontally installed motors, the installation direction of the bearings should ensure that the load between the inner and outer rings is balanced to avoid bearing jamming or increased wear due to unidirectional loads. Normally, the bearings should be placed horizontally to ensure that the load between the inner and outer rings can be evenly distributed, thereby increasing the service life.
Axial positioning: In vertical motors, the installation direction of the bearings needs to fully consider the relative position requirements of the rotor and stator when the motor is installed vertically. For example, when the motor shaft extends upward, the angular contact ball bearing should be installed at the lower end of the motor and in a lifting shape; when the shaft extends downward, the angular contact ball bearing should be installed at the upper end of the motor and in a hanging shape. This installation method ensures that the bearing can properly withstand the vertical force and avoid axial displacement of the bearing due to the natural downward movement of the rotor.
Lubrication and heat dissipation: The installation direction of the bearing also needs to consider the needs of lubrication and heat dissipation. In vertically mounted motors, grease may be lost due to gravity or accumulate at one end of the bearing, so special attention should be paid to lubrication and heat dissipation during installation. Ensure that the grease is evenly distributed, and check and replace the grease regularly to ensure the normal operation of the bearing and extend its service life.
